Our Story

It was not that long ago we were two young kids in high school who shocked everyone we knew when we married at 17 and 19. Some people spend their whole lives trying to find their soulmate. For us, that is the only part that has fit right from the start.

We have spent 20 years together. Raised two amazing kids who are about to head off to college. During that time the one thing we realized was home was not a place, but rather how we felt together.

What’s the Plan?

Travel Plans

If you have already read our story then you know that we married as teens in 2002. We had two kids under two by our two year anniversary… whew that was a lot of twos. Being young parents on a tight budget meant we stayed close to home. When our friends were traveling the world we were counting pennies to fill the gas tank. There definitely was not much travel in the cards.

When people would comment about how young we were and how hard it must be, we used to say we didn’t mind! We had energy for our kids and their friends, school life etc. When the kids were growing up and ready for that independence we could spend time doing things we wanted to do with more wisdom!

That is the PLAN!

We want to start with domestic travels first. Touring the United States of America and hitting all the major cities. This will allow us to be close for the kids as they are moving into their independence. Once the kids graduate, we are hitting the road Internationally! We have intentions to visit every continent traveling slow and working as digital nomads.

The Van Plan

We could never pull off flying around the world staying in hotels…even if we flew the budget airlines and stayed in a hostel with 20 other people.

No really, we want to travel so bad, we actually have run those numbers.

That brings us to our VAN PLAN!

We considered many options for a full time nomad pad. We are nature enthusiasts many of the places that excite us when we consider our bucket-list travel destinations are in the middle of very remote areas. We enjoy smaller crowds or no crowds as often as possible.

That is why we have examined every whacky vehicle option there was to convert: School buses, classic RV from the scrap yard, an old cargo plane, our trusty 20 year old SUV… we landed on a cargo style, high-roof van.

We’ll use the van to tour the US, and eventually we’ll be shipping it overseas!

We’re actively looking for a van and hope to start the build out within the next year! (2023). Contact us if you know any good deals!

Homestead Plan

The goal during our travels is to find land that we feel like we’re ‘called home’ to. Just because you’re born somewhere, doesn’t necessarily make you feel ‘at home’ there!

We want to build something as self sustaining as possible. We want a place where everything is working together and we are just a part of this system.

We have visions for a grand lodge with a café and rooms available to stay a couple days or maybe a couple months. We see tiny homes available for rent as well as tent and over-landing parking with outdoor kitchen and shower spaces... A tiny oasis for like minded nomads and nature lovers.
